This intimate portrait of Yves Saint Laurent by French photographer Alexandra Boulat shows a glimpse of the designer in his Paris studio working on his final touches of his last haute couture collection of his 40-year career in fashion. Boulat succeeded to capture these moments of intimacy and creation exactly four decades after her father, the renowned photographer Pierre Boulat, had taken iconic images of Saint Laurent in his design studio for the launch of his fashion house in 1962.

Alexandra Boulat (1962-2007) was a French photographer originally trained in graphic art and art history at the Beaux Art in Paris. In 1989, she followed in the steps of her father, the photographer Pierre Boulat. In 2001, she co-founded the VII Photo Agency covering news, conflicts, and social issues as well as making extensive reportages on countries and people. Her work has appeared in many magazines, including Time, Newsweek and Paris Match and she received numerous international awards.
